1866 - At Fort Phil Kearny, negotiations between Sioux leaders and government officials took place. After learning that soldiers were headed up the Bozeman Trail to build new forts Sioux leaders traveled north to alert the Sioux and Cheyenne.

1889 - Two feet of snow accumulated in Rawlins, WY.
