1983 - Prince performed the song "D.M.S.R." at the Minnesota Music Awards.
1984 - Prince's "When Doves Cry" was released in the U.S. The single became Prince's first number one song and became the biggest selling single of 1984.
1992 - Prince's single "Money Don't Matter 2 Night" hit #23 in the U.S.
1996 - The RIAA certified Prince's album "Purple Rain" at 13 times platinum.
2000 - The Artist announced that he was reclaiming the name "Prince" since his contract with Warner-Chappell had expired. The contract officially ended on December 31, 1999.
