Texas History
1902 - Juanita Shanks Craft, civil rights activist, was born in Round Rock, TX. Over a period of 11 years, she and Lulu Belle White organized 182 Texas branches of the NAACP. In 1944, she became the first black woman to vote in Dallas County.
