1886 - Thomas Moonlight was appointed governor of Wyoming Territory by President Cleveland.

1869 - In Cheyenne, the first issue of the "Wyoming Tribune" appeared.

1903 - In Cheyenne, WY, Thomas "Tom" Horn, Jr. was hanged for the murder of Willie Nickell. It was the last legal execution to be carried out outside of a penitentiary.
