1863 - Union General Alexander Stewart Webb commanded troops defending the center of the Union line on Cemetery Ridge.

1863 - Confederate General Lewis Armistead led a brigade in Pickett's division during the charge at Gettysburg. Armistead was mortally wounded in the battle. This was the final battle at Gettysburg.

1863 - In Pennsylvania, the Battle of Gettysburg ended with the Union Army defeating the Confederates. (July 1-3)
