Easter

Easter Sunday is the day Christians celebrate the resurrection of Jesus. Jesus was persecuted because of his faith and beliefs in his father God. The Romans knew that Jesus could disrupt their base of power. This in turn would lower the tax revenue taken in their areas of control.

Jesus was crucified by the Romans on Good Friday, which is the Friday before Easter. On the third day Jesus was resurrected.

As part of the holiday season families around the United States celebrate Easter by preparing Easter baskets and coloring eggs with the children.

The object of an Easter egg hunt is to collect the most eggs. The eggs are hidden prior to the hunt usually by the parents. Often the eggs contain treats or are made pf chocolate so the kids can eat them.
