Veteran's Day


Veteran's Day is intended as a day to honor and thank all military service personnel who have served in all wars. In the United States this day is November 11. A two minute period of silence is observed at 11am.

On May 13, 1938, Armistice Day was made a legal holiday in the United States. Originally, the day was intended to honor veterans of World War I.

  • June 22, 1944 - U.S. President Franklin Roosevelt signed the "GI Bill of Rights" to provide broad benefits for veterans of the war (World War II).
